Lungs Support
The human lungs are two large, spongy organs specially designed for efficient gas exchange between the air we breathe and our bloodstream. Our bodies need oxygen to survive, and the lungs supply this essential gas while also expelling carbon dioxide before it can build up to dangerous levels.
Amazingly, if the inner surface of the lungs were spread out flat, it would cover approximately 80 to 100 square meters—roughly half the size of a tennis court. In addition to supporting life, the lungs also make it possible for us to speak, laugh, and sing by providing the necessary airflow.
